RAFFLE TICKET SALES START IN JUNE!
The annual LHSA Raffle will take place this summer, with ticket sales starting in June. The Raffle is the main fundraiser held by the society each year. We hope each member will support the LHSA by purchasing tickets. The odds are actually very good in this raffle!
The Raffle drawing is scheduled for July 19.
Special Note: This year the Grand Prize winner will have a choice of two outstanding prizes. Watch this page for the prize announcements!
45TH ANNUAL MEETING - SAN FRANCISCO!
The LHSA Meetings Committee is pleased to announce plans for the 45th Annual Meeting, to be held in beautiful San Francisco October 30-November 2, 2013!
The headquarters hotel will be the Marines Memorial Club near Union Square (www.marineclub.com). The Marines Club room rate of $189 includes a hot breakfast buffet and daily Happy Hour in the Leatherneck Lounge.. one of the best deals in San Francisco!
Hotel reservations may be made by calling the Marines Club front desk at 415-673-6672. Ask for the "LHSA" room block.
Highlights of the meeting:
Presentations from well-known Bay area photographers Charles O'Rear, Gary Fong, and Richard Koci-Hernandez.
Mr. O'Rear is best known for his photos of the Napa Valley wine country and the image "Bliss" used as the default wallpaper for Windows XP.
Mr. Fong is a former staff photographer for the San Francisco Chronicle and a five-time winner of the Bay Area Photographer of the Year award.
Mr. Koci-Hernandez is an Emmy award winning video and multimedia producer and has been twice nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
Street shooting workshops with members of the local Leica community.

2013 SPRING SHOOT A SUCCESS!
The 2013 Spring Shoot in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida was a great success! Many thanks to everyone that participated and especially to David and Juliana Farkas for hosting the group at the new Leica Store Miami. The Farkases also generously sponsored the keynote speaker, Maggie Steber.
