Leica and The International Leica Society (LHSA) are pleased to offer a free one-year digital membership to purchasers of new Leica system cameras including the Leica Q. This offer is available for new members only.

Your free membership includes a digital subscription to Viewfinder, our acclaimed quarterly journal featuring photo essays, Leica history, and camera reviews. You will have access to the members’ area of our website (lhsa.org) with exclusive articles, Ask an Expert program, Viewfinder archives, and the latest Leica news.

LHSA member-only benefits include:

  • Access to members-only portions of the website with exclusive articles, Ask an Expert program, Viewfinder archives, and the latest Leica news.
  • Invitations to participate in spring shoots, regional meet-ups, and annual meetings. At these gatherings, attendees can take advantage of “Leica on Loan” programs to try out products, receive professional instruction, and meet with Leica experts.
  • Quarterly newsletter and bi-monthly emails to stay up-to-date on all things Leica, including news on exclusive offers and special commemorative products.
  • Camaraderie and fellowship with other LHSA members.

LHSA also gives back to our photographic community, through a Photographers’ Fund, to assist aspiring photographers in completing projects (the image above is from our first winner, Ksenia Kuleshova).

What’s in a Name (Ours)?

People sometimes ask us about our name and logo. We are the International Leica Society, an international organization of Leica users as well as collectors with members from more than 20 countries.

We were founded fifty years ago as the Leica Historical Society of America (LHSA) and continue to use the LHSA logo as a link to our roots.  Just as history plays a large role for Leica cameras, it remains important to us as well.   If you would like more information about us, please email info@lhsa.org

To redeem your free membership:

  • Fill out the form below
  • Fill in the purchase date and serial number of your camera system in the “Biography” section
  • Select One-Year Membership and put in the discount code (you do not need to fill in credit card information): leicafm2018.

Hello, I would like to apply for my One-Year Free Membership but I don’t want to add my address or phone number. Leica m10-D serial number is 05501195 purchased from Leica Sydney store on July 8 2019

    Hello, Steve,
You can register you information and select “Do not list in directory” if you are concerned about your address being visible on the website. Let me know if you have any questions at info@lhsa.org.
    Best regards – Richard

I attempted to sign sign up for the free one year subscription could find the “apply” button and the form wanted my credit card information, gave up

I have a Leica ME 240 serial number 5548215, from 2019 and the form want my credit card

I just bought a Q2 and it supposedly comes with a one year free membership. Your webpage still requires a credit card and states that I’ll be changed $60. I’m confused.

    Hello, Steve,

Thank you for your message, Steve.

You should be able to enter the discount code and hit join (or enter) without entering the credit card information; however, if you do put in the credit card information, your credit card will not be charged as long as you enter the discount code, which is in the instructions at the top of the page. Some people forget to put in the discount code and are charged, but we always credit back the amount. Let me know if you have any issues or questions.
